The international relief organization Samaritan’s Purse is looking for a few shoeboxes— and area residents ready to help brighten the lives of needy children.
The group is collecting donations for its annual Operation Christmas Child event this week. Donors pack a shoebox full of presents, hygiene items and school supplies, then take it to one of 10 area drop off locations. Donations will be accepted through November 23.
The program, which first began in 1993, has delivered more than 178 million shoeboxes to children in over 160 countries, according to the Samaritan’s Purse website.
