Staying active and engaged in the community doesn’t have to come with a price tag for older adults in the Toledo area. Senior residents can stay connected with their communities thanks to several local school districts offering special passes that allow free admission to school events. These programs allow seniors aged 60 and older to attend athletic events, concerts, plays, and more at zero cost to the senior.
Toledo Public Schools
Toledo Public School District senior residents, aged 60 or older are invited to apply for the Golden Apple Card. Seniors with a Golden Apple Card will receive admission to all TPS home athletic events, excluding the all star games, city championships, state tournament events and the annual Shoe Bowl. Golden Apple Card members will also receive free admission to all school plays and concerts, as well as receive a 50% tuition discount for all Adult Education courses. Seniors interested in the Golden Apple Card should call 419-671-0440 to make an appointment.
Perrysburg Schools
Perrysburg School District residents aged 60 or older can apply for the Senior Stinger Pass by appointment only at their 1200 Flagship Drive office. The pass allows free admission to Perrysburg High School and Jr. High School home athletic events, as well as plays and musicals produced by the Perrysburg High School and Junior High Drama Departments. Although admission to these events are free, for events with reserved seating, Senior Stinger Pass holders will need to pick up their tickets in advance. Maumee City Schools
Maumee City School district residents who are aged 60 or over can receive a Golden Panther Card. Golden Panther Card members will receive free admission to Maumee High School and Middle School home athletic events as well as musicals staged by Maumee High School and Middle School. Seniors interested in receiving a pass should stop by the Maumee City Schools administration office building at 716 Askin Street, Maumee, Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30am and 4pm with a photo ID that includes the address in the school district.
Washington Local Schools
Washington Local Schools offers a Senior Citizens pass for Washington Local School district residents. The pass allows free admission to all home junior high and high school athletic events. Senior residents interested in a pass must register for the pass in-person at the Washington Local Schools athletic office, 3505 W Lincolnshire Blvd.
