Books can bring people together across generations, creating opportunities to share stories, perspectives and experiences. Senior adults are invited to join Maumee High School seniors for the Bridging Generations Book Club, an intergenerational reading project designed to encourage connection and conversation through literature.
The book club is part of a Maumee High School English class Project Based Learning (PBL) project. Participating seniors can choose one of three books to read and discuss with Maumee High School students: Theo of Golden, The Correspondent or Remarkably Bright Creatures.
The project gives students the opportunity to engage with community members outside the classroom while hearing different perspectives and life experiences. For participating senior adults, it offers a chance to connect with local students, discuss a good book and share their own insights and experiences.
The Bridging Generations Book Club will meet at 10 am on Sept. 11, Sept. 23 and Oct. 2 at the Maumee High School Performing Arts Center, 900 Gibbs St., Maumee.
Senior adults are invited to take part in this unique opportunity to read, connect and bridge the generations through conversation.
