Two participants from the Bittersweet Farms program in Whitehouse made waves at the first ever Special Olympics Ohio Winter Games held in Bowling Green. Beth Meier, a state-level swimmer and skier, won one gold medal and two bronze medals as part of the Games’ swimming events. Matt Pierson, a member of the Lucas County D4 basketball team, earned a bronze medal for his team’s efforts in the State basketball tournament. Beth and Matt both are part of the Bittersweet Farms community which provides individuals on the autism spectrum a chance to work in an agricultural environment.
