Tedd Long, a local author and history buff will be your guide through The Glass City. The move-at-your-own-pace, self-GPS-guided tours use the VoiceMap app to guide you through the area. Both walking and driving tours are offered. Long will narrate and give fun facts as you arrive as you arrive to the destinations.

“Our GPS-guided walking and driving tours feature little-known historical facts and fascinating stories about Northwest Ohio,” the Holy Toledo History website states.

Long will also give tips and advice on best activities, restaurants and spots for your group to hit while you take the tour.

“I enjoy researching local history and sharing what I learn on tours I host and exhibits I create. But, most of all, I love the storytelling and hearing someone say, “I never knew that,” because it means they’ve learned something new, and I’ve sparked their interest in people from the past,” Long states on the website

All you have to do to start a tour is download the free VoiceMap app, select and download the tour you want to take and head to the starting point. Once you have reached the starting point, press play to begin your tour. The app is available to purchase on both the Apple App Store and Google Play.

“If you’ve driven this route and wondered, “Why is that over there?” Or, “How did that get here?” Or, “What did this look like before?” This tour tells you. You won’t ever be bored while driving it again. You have seen its past,” the Holy Toledo History website said,” the website states.

Several tours are offered through Holy Toledo History, including Unholy Toledo, Voices of Fallen Timbers, History & Hops, History Along the Maumee, Old West End Stroll, Explore Fort Meigs, Port of Toledo, Bowling Green, Downtown Bowling Green, Madison to Cherry, Jefferson to Moroe and The Warehouse District. Tours start at $5.99.

The Holy Toledo History website also features a blog written by Long where you can read and learn more about The Great Toledo Area.
