Bowling Green aims to open a memory care facility in the summer of 2024. The facility focuses on providing services and support to persons living with Alzheimer’s Disease, Dementia and other related disorders.
This new branch will be located at the Wood County Senior Center at 140 S Grove St. However, the MemoryLane Care Services’ other branch resides on 2500 N Reynolds Road in Toledo.
Back in November 2022, the money was approved. Now, after months of waiting, according to Executive Director of the Wood County Committee on Aging Denise Niese, $173,000 was provided by the Ohio Department of Aging.
In addition to the Ohio Department of Aging’s contribution, The Wood County Committee on Aging gave another $45,000 to the program from a healthy aging grant, as well as donations from the Area Office on Aging of Northwestern Ohio Inc.

The Bowling Green facility will be held in an independent space of 2,400 square feet with license and ability to serve 22 persons with memory issues, Niese said.
There will be areas for relaxation such as a patio, or sensory room. In this space, about 50 to 70 families can be expected to be served.
The facility’s mission is to help clients be able to participate in meaningful activities like a concert or exercise while offering families a break from caregiving.
