True Grit (1969 and 2010)

True Grit (1969 and 2010) – A pair of arresting westerns from different eras of Hollywood are both available to stream on Hulu. Both based on the same novel written by Charles Portis in 1968, the story follows the journey of young Mattie Ross as she seeks justice for the murder of her father, with the help of a one-eyed lawman named Rooster Cogburn. Hollywood icon John Wayne embodied Cogburn in the original 1969 adaptation, while Jeff Bridges wore the eyepatch in the 2010 film. Both would be nominated for Oscars for their performances in the role, though only Wayne won.
