Free Film Screenings Coming to Toledo-Area Communities

Looking for a fun (and free) way to celebrate Ohio’s rich history? As part of America’s 250th anniversary celebration, communities across the state are hosting Ohio Goes to the Movies which is a statewide series of free movie screenings that showcase films with Ohio connections. From beloved comedies and cult classics to family favorites and silent films, there are plenty of opportunities to catch a movie close to home this summer and fall.
Here are the free screenings happening in and around the Toledo area. Admission is free, but be sure to check with each venue for seating information and event details.

Eenie Meanie stars Samara Weaving as a pregnant former getaway driver forced back into crime for a dangerous casino heist. The action-comedy has strong Toledo ties, with scenes filmed at Hollywood Casino Toledo including the first chase scene ever shot on an active casino floor. More than 200 local crew members and hundreds of area residents also helped bring the movie to life.
