A unique program has students from Lourdes University working with patients suffering from dementia. Eleven psychology students have been working with residents at Rosary Care Center in Sylvania as part of a program called Opening Minds through Art, which encourages patients to find new creative ways of communication. The program recently received a grant from the Ohio Department of Medicaid to expand the program, giving organizations like Rosary Care additional funding for art supplies and sending individuals for training.
