The Glendale Assisted Living community on Ryan Road announced that it would be one of the area health care organizations participating in a special “HealthCare Heroes” parade being held on Thursday, May 7.
The event is one of the dozens that has been held over the past few weeks in cities around the country, in recognition of health care workers fighting on the front lines against the threat posed by COVID-19. The May 7 event will be focused on recognizing individuals working in long term care facilities and assisted living communities.
The event will begin at noon at the Southland Shopping Center, near planet fitness, and will feature more than 30 health care organizations in the Toledo area. In a press release, The Glendale revealed that its bus will be decorated with superhero posters painted by its own residents in gratitude for area workers.
After the parade, participants will be delivering cupcakes to workers at long term care facilities and senior living communities, including The Glendale itself.
