The Fair Housing Center announces the launch of the inaugural “Run Discrimination Out of Town” virtual walkathon/runathon aimed at creating inclusive communities that enhance opportunities for all.
Individuals and teams are invited to join the Fair Housing Center in this transformative event, and work together to eliminate discrimination and promote social justice.
Taking place from Aug. 26 to Sept. 30, participants are able to register as individuals or register as a team with friends. As part of the event, you will have the chance to set mileage goals customized to you and make a tangible difference in the lives of others.
The Fair Housing Center will host three in-person events at Metroparks Toledo to foster community engagement and encourage participants to work towards their goals. These events will provide an opportunity for participants to come together, share their progress and find inspiration from one another. Mark your calendars for the following dates:
- Sept. 9 from 1 pm – 4 pm at Oak Openings Metropark at the Mallard Lake Shelter
- Sept. 30 from 1 pm – 4 pm at Pearson Metropark at the Pearson Playground Shelter
The support of fair housing is crucial as housing plays a fundamental role in overall life success. By supporting fair housing, people can stabilize our neighborhoods, foster diversity and improve life outcomes for individuals and families. Every dollar raised through this event will directly contribute to furthering the mission of The Fair Housing Center, ensuring that everyone has access to equal housing opportunities.
