Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge Electric Shuttle Continues to Run

Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge Electric Shuttle is going to continue to run on every Friday through Sunday for the winter. The shuttle will run on its winter hours of 11 am through 1 pm.

This volunteer ran tour is usually an hour long but can run longer if there is a lot more that can be seen that day. Some of the sights to be seen are birding, wildlife observation and photography of the animals.

Spots along the tour can be reserved in advance by calling the refuge at 419-898-0014. Tours consist of six to ten people and are free of charge and operated by volunteers.

Anyone can go on the tour, however the refuge recommends these tours for those who are ages six and up. The shuttle itself is similar to an extended golf cart to provide an open-air experience for the tour.

All tours are dependent on the weather and may be cancelled in the event of bad weather. To ensure your tour is not cancelled call the same number you called to reserve your spot the morning of your tour.

For a better view you can bring your own binoculars or to borrow one from the refuge.

For more information call 419-898-0014 or visit fws.gov/refuge/ottawa.
