Mercy Health and Kingston Healthcare Company are proud to sponsor this year’s Retreat & Refresh Stroke Camp. The camp is dedicated to helping stroke survivors and their caregivers and family members improve their quality of life.
The three-day weekend event for 2022 is themed around the Roaring ‘20s with events and entertainment from that era. Additionally, there will be crafts, drum circles, outdoor activities and games focused on embracing life again and having fun with others who understand life after a stroke. Educational sessions and medical resources will be available and camps can1 offer accommodations so individuals of all abilities can participate.
“The neuroscience program at Mercy Health provides care for stroke patients from the onset of symptoms – with the Mobile Stroke Unit’s ability to bring stroke care to the patient – through treatment and finally to comprehensive rehabilitation,” said Julie Goins-Whitmore, Neuroscience Program Manager. “With partnerships like with the area’s Stroke Life Center and now by offering this camp, Mercy Health is continuing that commitment to stroke survivors by offering another way to embrace life.
The all-inclusive camp costs $150 per participant and includes everything from games and educational sessions to housing, food, outdoor events, discussion groups, informal chat with experts, relaxation and more.
