Kev Marcus and Wil Baptiste comprise Black Violin, two modern violinists melding classical and hip hop styles of string arrangements over the last 16 years. Bringing their innovative sound to Toledo’s Valentine Theatre this month, the two got their start creating beats for hip hop artists in South Florida and have played with stars like Alicia Keys, Tom Petty, and others, continuing to redefine what classical music can be.
