Now throw out everything you’re thinking, because The Straight Story is nothing like that. This road trip drama adapts the true story of Alvin Straight, a laborer who learns his brother has suffered a stroke. Since he’s lacking a driver’s license, Alvin decides to travel to see him the only way he can. The film was lauded by critics, and lead actor Richard Farnsworth was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar.
