Fargo (1996)
Oh, ya, this Coen Brothers crime drama is a classic, doncha know? Fargo tells the story of a small time car salesman who hatches a plan to have his own wife kidnapped to earn some money, and disaster ensues. The heart of the film is in Frances McDormand’s timeless performance as police chief Marge Gunderson, which earned McDormand the first of her three Academy Awards for Best Actress. The show would eventually inspire the acclaimed FX series of the same name.
