History comes to life in a glowing tribute at Spiegel Grove as visitors commemorate the 251st anniversary of Paul Revere’s legendary midnight ride. On Saturday, April 18, guests are invited to step back in time with a lantern walk through the scenic grounds of Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums.
As participants stroll through the arboretum, they will experience a live reading of Paul Revere’s Ride by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The poem will unfold in sections at three stops along the route, immersing guests in the tension and urgency of that historic night.
Tours depart at 7:30 and 7:45 pm, leading to a memorable finale at 8:45 pm, when two lanterns will be lit in the cupola of the historic Hayes Home, visible from the lawn.
Tickets are $5 per person and can be purchased online or at the museum front desk the evening of the event, pending availability. In case of inclement weather, activities will move indoors.
The event is part of the organization’s America 250 celebration, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s history while offering a unique, immersive evening for attendees of all ages.
