Anita Plantz Named Outstanding Senior Volunteer

Ten years ago, Maumee resident Anita Plantz began volunteering at Helping Hands of St. Louis/Catholic Charities. Since then, she has contributed more than 8,000 hours to the organization, including time spent creating a clothing center that serves approximately 500 people per month. In addition, Plantz and her daughter run a shoe giveaway program during the summer. Honoring Plantz’s lifetime of service, the 81-year-old was recently named Outstanding Senior Volunteer during the annual Northwest Ohio Outstanding Senior Volunteer Awards sponsored by Medical Mutual of Ohio.
