Mobile Meals of Toledo is calling for volunteers to help revitalize a local neighborhood during a special beautification event on Friday, June 28. The effort, in partnership with Toledo Design Collective, NeighborWorks America and Birmingham Neighbors Helping Neighbors, supports Consaul Community Day with a hands-on service opportunity near Calvin United Church of Christ and Birmingham Terrace.
From 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers will assist with planting flowers, distributing mulch and general clean-up efforts. The event will also feature live music, a community art project, and free snacks and water for participants.
In addition to recruiting volunteers, organizers are collecting donations to help fund a new TARTA bus bench and purchase flowers, mulch and other cleaning supplies for the project.
“This is a great opportunity to come together, give back, and invest in the future of our neighborhood,” said organizers in a statement.
To sign up or donate, participants can visit Mobile Meals’ website or email organizers at volunteer@mobilemeals.org.
