Gathering Volumes Bookstore, 196 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg to host the 72nd meeting of the History Explorers Book Club on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 6:30pm.
The club, organized by Denise Phillips, the owner of Gathering Volumes Bookstore, meets on the last Wednesday of each month at the bookstore. The club reads and discusses an array of history and biography books, particularly stories that have a connection to the Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan region.
The months meeting will discuss the book The Man Who Invented Motion Pictures: A True Tale of Obsession, Murder and the Movies by Paul Fisher as part of their “Inventors Who Mysteriously Disappeared” series.

The Man Who Invented Motion Pictures: A True Tale of Obsession, Murder and the Movies was named one of the New York Times’s Best True Crime books in 2022.
The book tells the story of Louis Le Prince, who disappeared mysteriously after inventing the movie camera. According to the book, he boarded a train and was never seen again.
“Mr. Fisher documents with the rigor of a historian and the flair of a true crime writer,” the Wall Street Journal said about the book.
