Paxton/Spangler Band at Lucille’s Jazz Lounge

The Paxton/Spangler Band takes the stage on Saturday, April 4, 7pm at Lucille’s Jazz Lounge, 1447 N Summit St Suite C, offering an evening built on classic material and experienced musicianship.

The group pairs two longtime performers with three younger players, creating a balanced sound that leans on tradition. Their sets move comfortably through jazz, swing, and crooner music, while also incorporating soul and New Orleans–influenced rhythms. It’s a broad but familiar catalog, drawn from artists such as Fats Waller, Hoagy Carmichael, Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole and Louis Jordan, alongside selections connected to Leonard Cohen, Hank Williams, Roy Ayers and Leon Russell.

Band leaders Tbone and RJ have spent years performing in New Orleans, both together and separately. The Paxton/Spangler Band has released three CDs with national distribution, earning radio play both in the U.S. and internationally.
