Museum of Fulton County Launches Senior Discovery Days for 2026

The Museum of Fulton County is welcoming older adults to slow down, socialize and explore local history with the launch of Senior Discovery Days, a new monthly program running throughout 2026. Designed for seniors aged 60 and over, these gatherings combine discounted museum admission, engaging educational programs and time to connect with friends—all in a relaxed, morning setting just north of Wauseon.

Held on the third Thursday of every month from 9:30 to 11:30 am, Senior Discovery Days are offered in partnership with the Fulton County Senior Center. For a $5 registration fee, participants receive admission to the museum, light refreshments, and a special program, activity or guided tour—an experience valued at nearly $25.

“Imagine a morning trip close to home where you can experience the joy of learning from specialists in the field of local history,” Judy Warncke, program coordinator at the Museum of Fulton County, said. “We have a fantastic slate of special programs planned throughout the year for our new Senior Discovery Days.”

The series opened earlier this year with a United Nations Tea Tasting and Craft, where guests sampled unique teas honoring Marjorie Whiteman—a Fulton County native, close friend of Eleanor Roosevelt, and writer for the United Nations—followed by a themed craft and time to explore the museum. The next upcoming winter Senior Discovery Day will take place on Thursday, Mar. 19, featuring a guided tour of a new exhibit on Native American history. Participants will also create a dream catcher to take home.

Advance registration is required for all Senior Discovery Days. Seniors may drive themselves or arrange bus transportation from the Fulton County Senior Center for a suggested $3 donation if at least ten participants sign up. Registration is available by calling the Museum of Fulton County at 419-337-7922 or the Fulton County Senior Center at 419-337-9299. The full schedule of programs is available at museumoffultoncounty.org.
