How do you define beauty beyond physical appearance? Beauty is truly in the “eye of the beholder”. When someone is feeling and living a life of joy, the beauty they resonate is a very clear and abundant. Joyful, happy people are stunningly beautiful.
What’s your favorite way to practice self-care when you’re feeling stressed? To settle the stress response in myself, I spend time in nature, with my dogs, practicing photography, meditating, or practicing yoga.
What’s the best self-care advice you’ve ever received? The key to self care is the consistency of small things practiced on a regular basis. Daily, regular practices done over time build a foundation of resilience and from that it is much easier to sustain balance and clarity.
What does “look good, feel good” mean to you personally? It means that when we do the work on the inside, the outside radiates the frequencies. Everything is an “inside job”. Just like the soil and what we can’t see underground is driving how plants grow and how they look. Our “soil” is on the inside and when we care for it, our outside reflects that.
What’s one habit that helps you feel confident inside and out? For my confidence inside and out, the intentions and affirmations that I set drive it. Once the affirmations are set, my trillions of cells get on their frequency and my body and mind function in unison with it.

How do you define beauty beyond physical appearance? I define beauty as a caring and loving soul.
What’s your favorite way to practice self-care when you’re feeling stressed? My favorite self care practice is to do a sound bed session, to raise my vibration, followed by a salt cave session to have time to be peaceful and detach from the outside world.
What’s the best self-care advice you’ve ever received? Best self care advice I have ever received is to take the time to just be…no distractions.

What if what you thought you knew about feeling healthy was wrong? The truth about living a healthier, more confident life is when people think about improving their health, they often picture a dramatic transformation. Maybe it’s a new diet, a gym membership or a number on the scale.
While those goals can be beneficial, some of the biggest barriers to better health are actually the misconceptions we believe.
At Wood County Hospital, we’ve spent 75 years helping people stay healthy, recover from illness and get back to doing the things they love. Feeling your best is about making informed choices and taking small steps that add up over time. If you want to look better, feel better and live well, here are five common health myths worth leaving behind.
MYTH #1: IF THE NUMBER ON THE SCALE IS GOOD, I’M HEALTHY.
Reality: Your strength may matter more than your weight.
Your body is remarkably good at telling you when something isn’t right. Listening early often leads to more treatment options and many times better outcomes.
Many people judge their health by what they weigh. But muscle mass naturally declines as we age, affecting everything from balance and metabolism to bone health and indepen- dence.
Instead of focusing only on pounds lost, think about what your body can do. Can you comfortably carry groceries? Climb stairs without becoming winded? Play with your grandchildren? Stay active throughout the day?
Building and maintaining strength through regular movement, even something as simple as walking or light resistance exercises, can help you stay independent and active for years to come.
MYTH #2: FEELING TIRED IS JUST PART OF GETTING OLDER.
Reality: Constant fatigue isn’t something you should simply accept.
Everyone feels tired occasionally, but if you’re waking up exhausted, relying on caffeine to get through the day or noticing your energy steadily declining, it’s worth paying attention. Poor sleep, stress, thyroid conditions, anemia, heart disease, diabetes and even certain medications can all contribute to fatigue.
MYTH #3: IF SOMETHING HAS BOTHERED ME FOR YEARS, IT PROBABLY ISN’T SERIOUS.
Reality: “Living with it” isn’t always the best option.
Heartburn after nearly every meal. Knee pain that’s changed the way you walk. Shortness of breath that keeps you from enjoying activities. Digestive changes. Frequent headaches. Urinary leakage.
Many people learn to work around these symptoms instead of asking why they’re happening.
Chronic conditions often have effective treatments, especially when they’re addressed early. You don’t have to wait until something becomes unbearable to ask questions or seek care.
Myth #4: STAYING HEALTHY IS ALL ABOUT DIET AND EXERCISE.
Reality: Good health is built through many everyday habits.
Eating nutritious foods and staying active are important, but they’re only part of the picture.
Getting enough sleep, managing stress, staying connected with family and friends, keeping up with recommended screenings and establishing a relationship with a primary care provider all play important roles in your overall well-being.
That’s because physical and mental health are deeply connected. When one area is struggling, the others often does too.
At Wood County Hospital, caring for the whole person has always been part of our mission. Whether it’s helping someone prevent disease through routine screenings, supporting recovery after surgery, guiding a patient through cancer treatment or simply encouraging healthier daily habits, we believe wellness goes far beyond treating illness.
Myth #5: LOOKING GOOD IS ABOUT APPEARANCE.
Reality: Confidence starts with feeling healthy.
The phrase “look good, feel good” often brings to mind appearance, but real confidence has much deeper roots. Waking up with energy. Walking without pain.
It’s feeling strong enough to travel, play with your children or grandchildren , enjoy your favorite hobbies or simply keep up with everyday life.
When your health improves, confidence often follows naturally.
As Wood County Hospital celebrates 75 years of caring for our community, one thing has remained constant: our commitment to helping people live healthier lives.
That means encouraging preventive care, supporting both physical and mental well-being and providing expert care when it’s needed most. Whether you’re scheduling a routine checkup, recovering from an injury or managing a chronic condition, every step you take toward better health matters.
Living well is about making informed choices, paying attention to your body and partnering with healthcare providers who can help you feel your best through every stage of life.
After all, the best version of “look good, feel good” has never been about how you look.
It’s about having the health, strength and confidence to live a life you love.
