Navigating the intricate system of personal affairs can be daunting for many Toledoans. To help get community members started, the Toledo Lucas County Public Library is hosting another Getting Your Affairs in Order workshop on June 22.
Back in January, over 100 community members attended first installment of the Getting Your Affairs in Order workshop. The turnout exceeded initial expectations of 75 to 80 attendees. Due to the immediate success, a second series was hosted in March with over 140 participants.
Now, after two successful series, the Toledo Lucas County Public Library is partnering with the Area Office on Aging of Northwest Ohio Inc., once again for a third time.
The third series, after feedback and popular demand, is repeat of the first event in January. This hour long workshop will feature local attorneys, the Lucas County Treasurer and representatives from the National Health Association and PNC Bank.
Attorney Charlon Dewberry will speak on topics like wills, healthcare power of attorney and how to transfer assets. Attorney Arthur Battle will discuss financial power of attorney, trust funds, bank accounts and more. More speakers with more topics will also be in attendance.
Major sponsors for the event include the Neighborhood Health Association, PNC and Toledo Lucas County Treasurer.

Those interested in attending the event are asked to RSVP on the library’s website by June 18.
If you cannot attend the third series, a fourth series is in the works for October 19. The fourth installment will focus more on living wills and death deeds.
