Yark Automotive Group and Toyota helped families from NW Ohio and SE Michigan who are living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia by donating $20,550 (a portion of proceeds from every car sold during December 2021) to MemoryLane Care Services, a non-profit helping families dealing with Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia.
This is the sixth year Yark has supported MemoryLane Care Services. The donations from Yark have remained in our local community and support respite care, support, education, counseling, and assistance to caregivers.
“Yark Automotive Group is so grateful to the community for supporting our businesses,” says Emily Yark, the company’s community relations manager. “We believe in supporting the community where we live and work. One way we do this is by contributing to local nonprofit organizations that provide needed and valuable services in our community every day. Our family has personally experienced the effects of this disease, and we understand how greatly it can impact a family. An organization, such as MemoryLane Care Services, which provides an adult day program and respite care as well as caregiving support for families, is vitally important.”
Alex Catchings, board chair for MemoryLane Care Services, says that Yark Automotive Group’s continual support has helped the organization continue programming to serve the growing numbers of caregiving families. These funds will enable MemoryLane Care Services to provide services to more families in our community and expand educational programming and support services to family caregivers and individuals living with dementia.
