Caring for the Caregiver: Six-Week Series Offers Support and Tools

A six-week series designed to support and empower caregivers will begin this April in Sylvania, offering practical tools and encouragement for those caring for loved ones.

Presented by Caregiver Resource Group, LLC in partnership with the Area Office on Aging of Northwest Ohio, the Powerful Tools for Caregivers program focuses on helping participants better care for themselves while managing the responsibilities of caregiving. The course is open to anyone providing care for a spouse, parent, child with special needs or friend, whether nearby or at a distance.

Sessions will be held Tuesdays, April 21 through May 26,  from 9:30 to 11 am at Oakleaf Village of Sylvania. The class is offered at no charge, though space is limited to ten participants.

Throughout the series, attendees will learn techniques to reduce stress, improve self-confidence, manage time, set goals and navigate difficult decisions. The program also emphasizes effective communication and connecting caregivers with helpful community resources.

The course will be led by Resource Specialist Chris Cremean and Healthcare Educator Dr. Lynn Ritter, who bring experience and guidance to each session.

Registration is required by April 20, 2026. Interested participants can call 419-206-5979 or email [email protected] to reserve a spot.
