The Swan Creek Metropark is installing a connector trail that will give visitors access to new areas of the park and link to the Arlington Avenue multi-use path.
Swan Creek Park was awarded $2.8 million for the project from the Metroparks Board. The trail will begin at the parking lot of the Airport Highway entrance and end just south of the Byrne Road bridge over Swan Creek. The connector trail will include two truss bridges, 580 feet of boardwalk, 5,600 feet of asphalt paving, and 2,100 feet of crushed stone pathway.
Linking the trail to Arlington Avenue gives trail users access to the University of Toledo Health Science Campus, Bowsher High School and Highland Park.
The trail will finish construction in June 2022. The park has future plans to extend this connector trail to other trails in the county.
