Good News – Baby Boomers Less Likely to Have Strokes

According to Joel N. Swerdel, a Ph.D. candidate at the Rutgers University School of Public Health, over the past 20 years, the rate of stroke more than doubled in those 35-39, doubled in those 40-44 and increased in people 45 to 54 years. The rate of stroke declined in those 55 and older. Mr. Swerdel warns that people under 50 need to be aware of this increased stroke risk for young adults, as the outcomes of a stroke can be more destructive than a heart attack.
