If you consider yourself to be a Humanist and are looking for a community of like-minded people, the Secular Humanists of Western Lake Erie (SHoWLE) is for you.
The group meets every 2nd Saturday of the month to discuss various Humanists’ beliefs and ideals as well as various events throughout the month.
SHoWLE is a chapter of the American Humanists Association (AHA). Those that become a member must subscribe to the AHA’s “Humanists and Its Aspirations” manifesto and support the “separation of church and state,” “science and reason,” “social justice” and “evidence-based solutions to human problems” are invited to join the community.
“Secular Humanists of Western Lake Erie values people, emphasizes reason and focuses on this world. We are a democratic, membership run organization with the purpose of providing a supportive, diverse, local community for humanists and other nontheists, while promoting ethical and reasonable secular world views through education, community service, outreach, activism, and social events,” the organization wrote on the website.
