The summer is on par for getting out and enjoying some golf. Area golf courses are the perfect place to be, whether you’re a newbie to the sport or a scratch golfer. Seniors have an advantage, too, with discounts and specials available across the area and around the country, according to Nick Szymanski of the South Toledo Golf Club.
“Every golf course in the country offers senior discounts,” he said. “Augusta National might not, but everyone else has some kind of senior discount at some time of the day.”
At his club seniors play for less every weekday, and weekends after 1 p.m., but rates vary.
“Rates change by season and time of day,” Szymanski said. He added that’s the reason discounts often aren’t published, so be sure to inquire at your club of choice to make sure you get the deal. The definition of “senior” can vary, too, so it doesn’t hurt to ask if you want to save some green on the greens.
