Perrysburg Sculpture Walk Public Opening and Concert
Location
Woodlands Park
429 E. Boundary
Perrysburg, OH
Description
After almost a year of planning the Perrysburg Sculpture Walk, an 18 piece large scale sculpture exhibit will open to the public on Saturday, August 21, 2021.   The exhibit is in Woodlands Park, 429 E. Boundary in Perrysburg.  The exhibit has three distinct components we think are newsworthy and interesting. Installation- Artist Reception featuring the Artist Award Presentation, (selected by notable jurors) and the community opening to the public which includes a concert.
Details:
This is a one- year exhibit featuring works by nationally known artists from 5 states. The exhibit is laid out to be a walking destination in the warm months and a driving destination in colder months. It is a multi-faceted exhibit featuring a diverse collection of juried art. There is a kinetic sculpture, interactive "wishing" piece, whimsical work for younger children, and interesting narrative work. The sculpture mediums are diverse as well featuring new mediums developed by artists in the show which include clay and steel by Mark Chatterley: Cast glass by Glenn Zweygardt, and a glass fiber reinforced concrete piece. All three artists have developed these innovative new and durable mediums for use in outdoor sculpture.
Perrysburg will open the Perrysburg Sculpture Walk on Saturday, August 21 in Woodlands Park, 429 E. Boundary, Perrysburg. The exhibit will begin with an invitation only artist reception and artist awards presented the community at large.  There are several parts to this story. I hope one or all might be of interest to the paper.
- The installation of the 17 large-scale sculptures, Dates and times vary but the work will be installed the week of August 16-20. (Schedule upon request).
- The Invitation only Artist Reception will include awarding $5000.00 in prize money. Award recipients were selected by Adam Levine, Director of the TMA; Susan Reams, art advocate; and nationally known sculptor Tuck Langland, National Sculpture Society and author.
