Free Streaming with Kanopy

Thousands of films and television shows are available for free with Kanopy, courtesy of the Toledo Lucas County Public Libraries. 

Kanopy is an online streaming service that provides movies, documentaries, television shows, international films and more. The service is free to use with your library card. 

Users are allowed 10 play credits per month and films are returned after three days. One film can be watched numerous times within the three days and additional play credits will not be used. Credits reset to 10 on the first of every month. 

Kanopy is available through IOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV, Roku TV, Chomecast, Samsung TV, Apple TV, and Telstra TV. Kanopy also offers mobile apps for Android, IOS, and Amazon devices. 

Films are organized by genre and Kanopy offers a wide variety of educational and instructional films along with cinematic options. Kanopy Kids is also available for childrens movies and TV shows. Parents and guardians can set parental controls and can also utilize Kanopy Kids’ read along stories, Vooks. 

All of Kanopy’s movies are available on demand and there is no waitlist to borrow and watch films. Films can be rewatched after the expiration period for an additional film credit.
