Stand against Racism with YWCA

The YWCA of Northwestern Ohio has announced their Stand Against Racism Challenge for April 2022.

YWCA is an organization that aims to eliminate racism and empower women, while promoting peace, justice and freedom. They offer child care and referral services, a domestic violence shelter, racial justice events, housing and youth development programs and a sexual abuse crisis center. They also host the YWCA Breast Cancer Awareness and Early Detection Program and The Infant Mortality Awareness Program.

The Stand Against Racism Challenge: A Virtual Community of Growth program is a virtual learning tool designed to educate on and inspire effective social justice habits. The program was previously called the 21-Day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge and this year’s event will follow a similar structure with new content and challenge material.

The 21-day event will provide a new challenge every day, some of which might include listening to a podcast, reading an article or reflecting on a personal experience. Participation in the challenges will offer insight into how racial injustice affects our communities, allow for connection with others and identify ways to dismantle racism and discrimination. Challenges can be found on the YWCA website or through the YWCA mobile app

The program launches on April 4th and registration is now open. Participants are able to register as an individual or as a group or organization. There is no cost to register and the registration form is available here
